(I *am* aware that 'fire & flight' is the title of the first Elfquest story...)

This is my very first centaur(ess), whoohoo! :) I had a *lot* of trouble with that bow and her hands holding it, and I know that she couldn't possibly actually shoot that arrow, I ALSO know that the arrow does not have feathers on the end of it's shaft.... *sigh* :)

I went for a mix between fantasy and native american style in this one, hence the feather decorations and the warpaint. The background is not really a proper background, I know, but at least I tried...

PLEASE do NOT use this picture for online purposes like forum avatars, RPG portraits etc. Printing and using for pen-and-paper RPG's, desktop wallpapers, diary decorating etc. is fine. Thanks. If you really REALLY want to use it for something and you're very very nice, you can always email me and ask. I won't bite, not immediately anyway.

COME ON! I cannot believe this is your first attempt at a centaur: it's too dern GOOD! You must have sketched or doodled them for some time before this.....It's taken me several decades to do them even half decently...7@=e

Well... It is my first *real* attempt, I have made a sketch/design thing first before drawing this pic though 2

No comments?!?! What?!? Ok, i'm done being upset now... That bow is awesome looking! The position is a little odd, but the composition is nice. Beautiful shading!

Thank you!

Well, this is probably going to be one of those comments that have become my special mark: A long, detailed one1
I REALLY loooove the bow, it's done amazingly!
Love the idea of a female centaur too, I don't see that very often.

I want a bow like that (just joining the club, you know), it's really great. Nice idea, by the way.
The tattoo-thing on her chest/human stomach is really well done, and so is the shieldish things on her arms. The hair is just SO great, love the movement in it!
The look on her face is really well done, like she is about to kill something, but she doesn't want to. Like a vetrinaire(I *KNOW*, I spelled that wrong), putting a sick animal to sleep.
The background is made great too, looks very realistic.

well, to sum up this stuff; it's a GREAT picture1

Thank you 2 The most fun part is to make sure that the horse part is as feminine as the human torso. Drawing a big, burly horse body with a thin female torso just won't do, heh 2

who cares what you think?... I think it is really awesome... the background is perfect... and what if the arrow she picked is a really special arrow for shooting a prey that can only be shot down with a particular type of arrow?... hmmmm?.... what then>>>;????/ muahahahahahahaahahahahahahahaha *S*W*A*K*

Hmm... yeah, who knows. Heh.

Hi! First of all... I LOVE THE PIC!!
Technical I don't think it would be possible for a bow to look like this, but it fits the pic well. You will never be able to hit a darn thing with that arrow! It simply can't fly to target without feathers... Maybe if you're the kind who fix a pic once it's finished, you could look at some pictures at how you draw a bow, cuz that ain't it... Sorry I ramble. I love your work, but with the details right, I would love it even more. Do keep drawing, you're really good.

Well, I knew all that even when I was in the process of drawing it. And no, I don't go back to old pictures. Mostly because they're in pencil and "fixing" a pencil drawing usually means you're going to ruin it with eraser smudges and stuff. So sorry ^^

Hey, it's the first composite bow!

Lol ^^

I like the bow. It really could work if you say the wood is especially fibrous and that the "zigs" in it add to the draw's strength like a compound bow does (as was previously mentioned by another) I'm sure that when it's are rest the zigs are not as extreme

Yeah! It was based on a composite bow actually, one I saw in a Dungeons&Dragons book. Thanks for the comment 2
